Must See TV

Those of you that truly know me, know that I am anti-TV for the most part.  Most americans watch way too much TV and allow their children to do the same.  Our lives have become far to sedentary and isolated due to the boob tube and the stuff that we are watching is poisoning our minds.  Families are now using TV time as their quality time together and they are spending way too much time on the couch instead of being more active and spending true quality time with their family members.  Also, we are being programmed every second to be unsatisfied with what we currently have in our lives.  Advertisers are experts at showng us stuff on TV that make us feel depressed about who we are and what we have in our lives……then they offer the solution….buy this, eat this, take this drug, etc. Continue reading

Introduction – My First Video Blog Entry

I had to force myself to sit down and just do this first video blog entry without stressing about the video quality/angle/lighting and such. I have found from other successful bloggers that the key is to just sit down and start talking….as long as you are saying stuff that people want to hear, they are not gonna care about whether or not it is a professional studio quality production. It is all about content and letting your true personality come through.

The Psychology of Motivation

One of my fellow mentors here in the office is preparing to give a “Sharpen The Saw” presentation on The Psychology of Motivation and he asked us to answer the following questions to help him prepare, so I figured I would share my answers with you all.

What and/or who motivates you?

Business?

I used to think that it was money that I wanted from life, but I now realize that money truly does not buy happiness. I know lots of people with money that are miserable because they traded a balanced life for the pursuit of money. Now I am motivated by Continue reading

The Eviction Process

I get several calls a month from people that are intimidated by the eviction process and they are not sure how to proceed to get someone out of their property. Many of them are worried that they are going to be sued by the tenant or that the tenant is going to do damage to the property if they try to evict them. You need to keep in mind that you are only doing what you promised them you would do if they broke their promise to pay you for the clean, functional housing that you are providing them…..you promised to evict them for non-payment. No Pay, No Stay!

Luckily, we live in Texas and the laws here are very landlord friendly. We can have someone out of our property within 23 days usually if they have not paid their rent. Actually, we can have them out in 10 days if we Continue reading
